Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress, who gained recognition for her performance in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She was first known for the role she played in the 1980s film Tezaab, in which she co-starred with an established actor Anil Koopor. The next film she appeared in was Dil in which she was on screen with Aamir. As a young girl growing up in Mumbai's middle-class, she learned to dance. In her early years, when she first started to act as a child actress, most of the films she produced did not succeed. Eventually, she found success with Indian filmmaking and rose to the very top. After her wedding ceremony, she took a short absence from acting until she returned. Recently, she had a major role to play in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggle of Indian women. Dixit has been nominated for the fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri - the fourth most prestigious civilian award of India awarded to Dixit. She has also been recognized by the social sector.
